Funky Drumming Stickings Part II

In this lesson I will continue on what we talked about in Part I and teach you how to apply the Funky Sticking pattern to some 8th and 16th note bass drum patterns.

"Funky Sticking" is a paradiddle based (RLRR-LRRL) sticking pattern used by Tower of Power's David Garibaldi and other drum legends to create incredibly funky grooves. The pattern has also been referred to as the "King Kong Beat". Whatever you want to call it, it's a fun pattern to play, it works well in numerous musical settings and it sounds great!

Thanks for checking out my weekly drum lesson at Musicians Unite!! Please check back next week for another lesson!!
